i was lucky enough to stumble accross this amazing website. "kardoes" is an online shop where you can buy the most amazing creative fabrics. i was instantly hooked, and found myself mesmerised and staring at the various colours, shapes and prints for unforgiving amounts of time (during work hours!). i find that when i see something i find absolutely beautiful, it's not just a visual exprience for me, but a total physical experience. i get goosebumps, my brain decides to halt all other activity, and i am overwhelmed by a feeling of total bliss. i had to tear myself away from this site (beware!), and have managed to addict a few other people to it as well. enjoy!

I'm back and a lot has happened.  I'm now a lecturer and I teach people things.  It's unbelievably rewarding to go to 'work' and to know the possibility is there that you're making a difference in someone's life.   It has also been hot .  Way too hot ... Almost unbearably hot.  And I've decided that I want to live on the coast in an area where it's mostly autumn/winter.    {I want cool, misty, wet days somewhere where it's green and quiet and beautiful.} Somewhere where it looks something like this:  A girl can dream, right?

A picnic under a tree

We are lucky enough to live walking distance from the Helderberg Nature Reserve .   It is such a beautiful place. Swan & I had a picnic there two Sundays ago.   I made a chicken salad, we popped a bottle of bubbly and fell asleep whilst reading in the sun. Bliss .

I love what I do.

image credig: weheartit I want to write about how much I love what I do.  Let me start at the beginning. I took a big risk at the beginning of 2010.   After much thought and deliberation I quit my job ( which I really didn't like - it was the last of a string of not-so-great jobs I've taken which were leading nowhere ) and slid back into the world of being a full-time student.   Yes, a full-time student.   How great is that? And this at 30! I still feel very lucky to have been able to make this decision.  My career was going nowhere and I felt it was time ( at last ) to further develop the skills and talents I was given. It was time to do what I actually want to, to do what I was good at. So I enrolled for the Postgraduate Diploma in Translation course at Stellenbosch University.
