When I moved house earlier this year, I've managed to 'misplace' the face of my cd player / radio of my car. I've been driving in silence (except for the moments I couldn't stand it and started singing like I'm on MTV!) for a few months now, and lost touch with what's happening in the music world. I have however stumbled accross last.fm - a fantastic site where you can listen to samples of any song you can probably think about... they also offer full length tracks, and 'radio stations' of spesific genres of music is freely available for your listening pleasure. A great site, very informative, very entertaining. (I hope they never decide to block this site!) *

I'm back and a lot has happened.  I'm now a lecturer and I teach people things.  It's unbelievably rewarding to go to 'work' and to know the possibility is there that you're making a difference in someone's life.   It has also been hot .  Way too hot ... Almost unbearably hot.  And I've decided that I want to live on the coast in an area where it's mostly autumn/winter.    {I want cool, misty, wet days somewhere where it's green and quiet and beautiful.} Somewhere where it looks something like this:  A girl can dream, right?

A picnic under a tree

We are lucky enough to live walking distance from the Helderberg Nature Reserve .   It is such a beautiful place. Swan & I had a picnic there two Sundays ago.   I made a chicken salad, we popped a bottle of bubbly and fell asleep whilst reading in the sun. Bliss .

I love what I do.

image credig: weheartit I want to write about how much I love what I do.  Let me start at the beginning. I took a big risk at the beginning of 2010.   After much thought and deliberation I quit my job ( which I really didn't like - it was the last of a string of not-so-great jobs I've taken which were leading nowhere ) and slid back into the world of being a full-time student.   Yes, a full-time student.   How great is that? And this at 30! I still feel very lucky to have been able to make this decision.  My career was going nowhere and I felt it was time ( at last ) to further develop the skills and talents I was given. It was time to do what I actually want to, to do what I was good at. So I enrolled for the Postgraduate Diploma in Translation course at Stellenbosch University.
